de torpedos y machetes

a series of poems for TERCE by Ignacio Gatica

Gatica and I wrote 9 poems for TERCE, a piece exhibited at the Sculpture Center’s Literally Means Collapse. We constructed a series of found poems that told stories of what Latin America's 1960s and 70s looked like when the continent served as a backdrop for the CIA's famous “Operation Condor.”  These poems were printed on sculpture plinths by the artist.

Accompanying the program at the Sculpture Center there was a “cheat sheet” reader produced by Gatica. It collated contributions by Juan Carreño, Gabriel Osorio, Carlos Soto Roman, and myself.
